Autosport International 2016
We had the pleasure of being invited to the Autosport International Motorshow 2016, held at the NEC last weekend. The drive from Tolworth, Surrey up to Birmingham was one of excitement and anticipation as I headed towards the first motor show of the year!
Whilst the show seemed smaller this year than in previous there was no shortage of incredible stands and cars!
The highlights for me –
a Carbon Clad TVR Speed 12, something I’ve not had the pleasure of seeing in person looked menacing and imposing in all black.
Of course, the Aston Martin Vulcan stood out, I found myself drifting back towards it on a number of occasions, knowing full well I was unlikely to see another one in person again.
There were, of course, a number of celebrities on hand to get the crowd going – including F1 legends Felipe Massa and Damon Hill (OBE) and Touring Car Champions Gordon Shedden and Matt Neal.
Being there for the full four days felt a little over the top. After the first day I had taken in much that the show had to offer, however come saturday morning, I felt invigorated once again as the doors opened to the public and the real fun began as the engineering hall was cleared out in order to house the drifters and other performance car displays and there was a much bigger focus on the live action arena which had been fairly redundant until that point.

A special mention to Viper Motor Sport – whom went out of their way to make me feel very much at home throughout the whole weekend – Subaru Specialists and all round top guys!
